Introduction

The Department of Physics was established in 1993. Since its formation, it has always striven to achieve academic excellence and nurture statistical interests. The department offers courses in Physics for under-graduate students of the college. The department has a dedicated team of qualified staff members who actively participate in teaching courses and cutting-edge research. The department provides a vibrant atmosphere to the students to foster academic development. In addition, various guest lectures, seminars, workshops and activities are organized throughout the year to encourage the spirit of learning and development.

The student community at the department is friendly, enthusiastic and from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Departmental Activities & Report

Department of Physics is dynamic, happening and active in organizing and conducting activities to back-up the students for their all-around developments. Many of these activities provide them a platform to deliver, express, share and nourish their natural talent. Academic, social, cultural, professional, scientific activities combine the essence of these activities.

The aims and objectives of this are to create a platform for the students to encourage participative and inclusive learning through an opportunity to showcase their talent and sharpen their leadership quality. All these activities are planned, organized and executed by the teachers & students. Thus, we make a conscious effort to develop an overall personality of the students. ACTIVITIES DURING ACADEMIC YEAR 2020-2021 

                    International e-Conference Report

Department of Physics Organized One Day International e-Conference on “Ethical and Quality Aspects in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Research” (ICEQANNR-2020) in collaboration with Kaviyitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon on 20th June 2020. Hon’ble. Prof. P. P. Mahulikar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, K.B.C. N.M.U., Jalgaon, inaugurated the conference in presence of Hon’ble Dr. Satish M. Deshpande, Joint-Director, Higher Education, Jalgaon. Key Note Address given by Prof. S. T. Bendre, School of Physical Sciences KBCNMU, Jalgaon delivered talk on “Materials Aspect for GREEN Energy Issue: Our CADP Initiative”.

There are four invited resource persons 01-Dr. Nishad G. Despande from Advanced Materials Science and Engineering, Sungkyunkwan University, Suwon South Korea, delivered lecture on “What makes nanomaterial’s important?” 02- Dr. Rupesh S. Devan from Discipline of Metallurgy Engineering and Materials Science, Indian Institute of Technology, Indore delivered lecture on “Ethics in research publications” 03- Dr. Umesh A. Kshirsagar from Discipline of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Indore delivered lecture on  “Modern Photochemistry Using Photocatalysis: A Way Towards Green Organic Synthesis” 04- Dr. Arindam Ghosh from G.D.C. Memorial College, Bahal (Bhiwani, Hariyana) delivered lecture on “Nanotechnology: A revolutionary technology”.

Ten research scholars presented their research work by power point presentation in the conference. Two examiners Dr. S. R. Gosavi from ASC College, Taloda and other Dr. P. P. Jagtap from PSGVPMs ASC College, Shahada are appointed to examine the presentation and three good & innovative researches awarded as the best presentation award. About 687 teachers and research students from different colleges and universities in Maharashtra and abroad were participated in the conference. Prof. B. Y. Bagul was convener & Dr. S. M. Patil is co-convener of this conference. We prepare a book with ISBN number ISBN: 978-93-87098-56-5 with pages 332, contains 233 abstracts & 12 research papers.

  • Objectives/ Brief description of Event- The primary objective of the science day celebration is to ignite an interest in science, inspire beneficiaries, especially students, to perform new experiments, and make them aware of the latest developments in Science and Technology. On this day department of Physics organized two lectures in first session Mr. R. K. Patil explains on “Solar Energy and its Practical Implementation” and in second session Dr. R. D. Patil talk on “Genetic Science and Biotech Physics”

Outcomes- On 28″ February 2022 Science Day activities were inaugurated in the form of National Science Day celebration. The Department of Physics of the College organized two lectures. By these two talks students are much more understand about solar energy and its applications & uses. From second lecture student can understand the relation between life sciences & Physics.

Detail Report of Science Day Activities 2021-22 

  • A Poster and project competition was organized by the Department of Physics for the students of Science on 15-16th April 2022. There were 30 posters on the topic “Innovative ideas and latest trends in Physics”
  • Study tour As a part of curricula, Department of Physics arranged Study tour at Hero Printers Limited, Shahada on 26th April 2022 (S. Y. B. Sc) and 29th April 2022 (F. Y. B.Sc.). Around 38 students were present for the study visit in which students were exposed to various technical methodologies for printing. Swift Advent plus machine is used for printing. There are different steps for printing Job-type setting, Tracing, Plate expose then finally the Machine Print. The study visit was co-ordinated by Dr. B. Y. Bagul.

Outcomes- Students developed team spirit among themselves. Students understood the possibilities of exploring the new machines. Students gained the knowledge in the field of Printing Technology. The students were benefited with the knowledge of different processes involving in printing.

Detail Report of Study Tour 2022 

  • Industrial Visit As a part of curricula, Department of Physics arranged Industrial study tour at Mahagit Agro Private Limited, Lambola, Tal. Shahada on 30th April 2022 for F. Y. B. Sc. & S. Y. B.Sc. students. Around 38 students were present for the industrial visit in which students were exposed to various technical and chemical methodologies. Students got an opportunity to avail the knowledge of processing units like cleaning, to study the handling, milk processing, packaging of Milk products, Quality control of Milk and Milk Products and Packing etc. The industrial visit was co-ordinated by Dr. B. Y. Bagul.

  • Subject/Faculty Day Celebration- Celebration of subject, faculty and special day celebration in the department. Physicist Sir Dr. Galileo di Vincenzo Bonaiuti de’ Galilei 458th Birth Anniversary were celebrated on 15th February 2022. Also celebrates National Science Day on 28th February 2022 to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect.
  • Student Seminar- Organized students seminar for the paper Physics I & II of FYBSc and SYBSc students. The students present the content in the seminar as per the topic of choice. The quarterly 10 minute seminar + 3 minutes question & answer is held for FYBSc and SYBSc level students.

Teachers Day Celebration (5th September 2022)

OBJECTIVES/ BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EVENT: Department of Physics has organized a Teachers Day Celebration to felicitate respected teachers of SSPM’s Vasantrao Naik ASC College Campus on the 5th September 2022. The students of Physics Department, in groups visited departments and classes of college in VNC Campus and gifted a plant and handmade greetings to the teachers. The teachers were requested to plant the plantlet gifted and take care of it as they take care of students.

OUTCOMES: All student of Department of Physics actively participated and learned to Human Values of greet teachers & a message of conservation of environment of all faculties within SSPM’s Vasantrao Naik ASC College Campus. They also came to know about increasing a green cover in local area by gifting plants.

Nandurbar District Level Avishkar-2022 was organized in campus on 18th October 2022. Dr. B. Y. Bagul was the Coordinator & Dr. R. D. Patil was the Dy. Coordinator for this Nandurbar District Level Avishkar-2022. From Nandurbar District 24 colleges with 365 students & 15 team managers are participated in this event. Total 220 posters and 12 working models were presented in this Avishkar. Prof. Dr. Ajay S. Patil, computer science department, KBCNMU, Jalgaon was the observer & 12 other professors Prof. Dr. R. R. Ahire, Prof. Dr. Chalikwar, Prof. Dr. Atul Shindkhedkar, Prof.Dr. Gajanan Patil, Prof. Dr. K. N. Borse, Prof. Dr. Dipak Deore, Prof. Dr. Valmik Shirsath, Prof. Dr. Rajendra Bhamre, Prof. Dr. S. B. Attarde, Prof. Dr. Sandip Bhamre, Prof. Dr. Prashant Sonawane, Prof. Dr. Ujwal Patil was the suject experts from jalgaon university.

Co-op Education Society’s, Shahada was the presedent of this function. Hon. Bhaiyasaheb Sanjayji Premchand Jadhav, Secretary, SSPMs Dhule and Hon. Varshatai Sanjay Jadhav, Secretary, Sonamai Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Dhule are the chief guest for this function. Prof. Dr. R. S.   • Dr. B. Y. Bagul was the College Team Leader for Research Convection Avishkar-2022 (Phase-II) organized by Kaviyitri Bhahinabai Chaudhari North Mahatrastra University, Jalgaon during 11-12th November 2022.
  • Remedial Teaching: Department has conducted remedial teaching for F. Y. and S. Y. B. Sc. students on various topics in Physics.
  • Quiz Competition– Organized College Level Quiz Competition on “Basic Concepts in Physics” on account of 459th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Galileo Galilei for undergraduate science students in Google form from 22th February 2023 to 26th February 2023.
  • Industrial Visit As a part of curricula, Department of Physics arranged Industrial study tour at Sai Mangal Electrical and Engineering, Manrad, Tal. Shahada on 21th April 2023 for F. Y. B. Sc. & S. Y. B.Sc. students. Around 25 students were present for the industrial visit in which students were exposed to various technical and manufacturing methodologies of transformers. Students got an opportunity to avail the knowledge of processing units like primary winding, secondary winding, core winding of transformers.Transformers from 10KVA to 200 KVA are fabricated here and also the repairing works are done. Losseses in a transformer are minimized by different testings and are ready to sell. The industrial visit was co-ordinated by Dr. B. Y. Bagul.

Outcome – Students developed team spirit among themselves. Students understood the possibilities of exploring the new machines. Students gained the knowledge in the field of Transformer &Technology. The students were benefited with the knowledge of different processes of manufacturing involving in the Industry.

  • Subject/Faculty Day Celebration- Celebration of subject, faculty and special day celebration in the department. Physicist Sir Dr. Galileo di Vincenzo Bonaiuti de’ Galilei 458th Birth Anniversary were celebrated on 15th February 2023. Also celebrates National Science Day on 28th February 2023 to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect.
  • Student Seminar Organized students seminar for the paper Physics I & II of FYBSc and SYBSc students. The students present the content in the seminar as per the topic of choice. The quarterly 10 minute seminar + 3 minutes question & answer is held for FYBSc and SYBSc level students.
  • One Day National Virtual Seminar Organized One Day National Virtual Seminar on “Sustainable Development Goals (NSSDG-2023)” on 14th March 2023. Hon’ble. Prof. Dr. S. T. Ingale, Pro. Vice Chancellor, Kaviyitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon inaugurated the National e-Seminar in presence of Prof. S. B. Kulkarni, Director, Student Development Department, KBCNMU, Jalgaon, Hon’ble Prof. Bhaiyyasaheb, Sanjayji Premchandji Jadhav (Secretary, SSPM, Dhule) and Hon’ble Sau.Varshatai S. Jadhav (Secretary-Sonamai Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’s, Dhule).

01- Prof. Dr. Madhulika A. Sonawane, Director, School of Management Studies, KBCNMU, Jalgaon delivered a talk on “Sustainable Development through strong educational institutions in verge of NEP”.

02- Ex Principal Dr. S. R. Chaudhari, Pratap College, Amalner delivered lecture on “River linking Project – A key measure for Sustainable Development in India”.

03- Prof. K. L. Kumare,  Department of Political Science, Abasaheb Garware Autonomous College, Pune, delivered a talk on “The Path to Sustainable Development: Quality Education as the Key Driver”.

04-Dr. Anil Ramdas Bari, Department of Physics, ASC College, Bodwad delivered lecture on “Nanotechnology for Sustainable Development”.

About 350 teachers and research students from different colleges and universities in Maharashtra and other state were participated in the seminar. Two research scholars presented their research work by power point presentation in the seminar. Dr. B. Y. Bagul was convener & Prof. N. M. Salunke was co-convener and Dr. D. Y. Patil was Organizing Secretary of this seminar.

  • Objectives/ Brief description of Event- The primary objective of the science day celebration is to ignite an interest in science, inspire beneficiaries, especially students, to perform new experiments, and make them aware of the latest developments in Science and Technology.

Outcomes- On 28th February 2023 Science Day activities were inaugurated in the form of National Science Day celebration. Dr. R. D. Patil was the guest of this event. The image of Dr. C. V. Raman was worshiped and garlands were offered. Dr. B. Y. Bagul explains in is introductory talk about work of Dr. C. V. Raman, why the science day is celebrated, what is the importance of science, how to reach the basic science towards the peoples. Dr. R. D. Patil about science, every one follows the basic science in our daily life & use of it. All students show their affection towards teacher by signing poems.

ACTIVITIES DURING ACADEMIC YEAR 2023-2024

Teachers Day Celebration (5th September 2023)

  • A tribute to great Indian philosopher and former President of India Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who believed that “Teachers should be the best minds in the country”. Inauguration event of Teacher’s Day was organized on Tuesday, 5th September 2023. Administrative Officer VNC Campus Himanshu Jadhav, was invited as chief guest for the function. All science faculty and students from F. Y. B. Sc to T. Y. B. Sc were present for this function. Then FYBSc and SYBSc Physics students participate in the process of teaching. Some SYBSc students teach in FYBSc class room. This process is continuing for whole day. Dr. B. Y. Bagul coordinated this activity.
  • ‘World Ozone Day is celebrated in Department of Physics on 21st September 2023 at 04.00 pm. Prof R. K. Patil was the Chief Guest for this function and given a talk on “Ozone Depletion, Effects and Solutions”. Dr. R. D. Patil, Head, Department of Zoology, BOS Member & all students of Physics Department were present for this function.
  • B. Y. Bagul was the College Team Leader for District Level – Nandurbar Research Convection Avishkar-2023-24 (Phase-I) organized by Kaviyitri Bhahinabai Chaudhari North Mahatrastra University, Jalgaon at PSGVPM’s College of Pharmacy, Shahada on 18th October 2023.
