Aims and Objectives of the Subject:-

Aims of the subject:-

  • To impart subject knowledge in highest possible standards.
  • To save environment by providing the knowledge of the importance of keeping balance of nature.
  • To develop skill among the students this will help them for job opportunities.
  • To inculcate the values and morals for ideal citizenship.
  • To motivate research potential in students.

Objectives of the subject:-

  • To offer a modular course of lectures and associated seminars, research projects and practical classes, supported by supervisions where appropriate.
  • To promote training in practical and conceptual skills in sub-disciplines ranging from molecular cell biology, through physiology, to the study of populations in both an ecological and evolutionary framework.
  • To provide constructive feedback on their progress, individual students will be assessed throughout the year in their project work, participation in seminars and written work for supervisions.

Significance of the subject:-

Zoology is the study of animals, how they evolve, move, behave, develop and function. However the study of zoology is more important in the 21st century than ever. It helps to understand how animals interact with their environment, how organisms play their role in various ecosystems, and how human being is doing an attempt to destroy the beauty of nature.

Zoology is also the study of living organisms, specifically animals where Zoologists study multiple species in a certain ecosystem, population interactions, and specific species or behaviors. It relate to Cell biology, Ecology, Physiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Apiculture, Aquaculture, Agricultural Pests and Their Control and Vermiculture.

As it is the multidisciplinary subject, it highlights the study of organisms, its genetic, morphological and physiological attribution in surrounding environment and their role in the conservation of environment.
